A Feast of Fire and Flowers

At the height of about 12 meters, the lantern display resembles an ornate crown, incorporates motifs of the cotton tree, bauhinia and lotus, which represent Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao respectively, and signify the cultural integration and harmonious co-existence of the three regions.

The overall design features fireworks effects and varied LED lights to create images resembling the movements of dancing flames, which symbolise the close connection between cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and their boundless vitality. Inside the display, sets of projection lights work together to create an immersive colourful space as if immersing the visitor in the vibrant world of the National Games. The lantern display offers distinctly different visual experiences in daytime and at night. Whether it is an interplay between layers of light and shadows during the day, or a dazzling showcase of colourful lights in the dark, the display always exudes dynamism and creativity.
