The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will specially set up a large lantern installation at Victoria Park from 19 to 27 September 2026 showcasing lantern creations of students and persons with disabilities, allowing their works to be featured in the largest Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival in Hong Kong, celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day. This Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival is also one of the events of the Chinese Culture Festival.
The Lantern Design Display, themed around celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival / the National Day is suitable for students from primary schools, secondary schools and special schools, as well as persons with disabilities. They can participate by drawing on the lanterns provided by LCSD. These lanterns will be displayed at the Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival to be held in the Victoria Park. The Lantern Design Display aims to enhance the interest of participants in traditional Chinese craftsmanship, as well as to promote and inherit local intangible cultural heritage. It also provides the public with an opportunity to appreciate the artistic creativity of participants as well as celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day. The participation in the event is free of charge. Both individual and group creations are welcome.
