This year’s theme is "Lotus Pond under the Full Moon". The autumn breeze wafting through the moonlit sky soothes our busy minds. Members of the public are invited to visit the Tuen Mun Park and savour the views here around the lotus pond and the gurgling stream, appreciating lanterns featuring flowers in full bloom amid dancing butterflies.
The Gala Night also showcases stage performances with strong Chinese flavours, such as spectacular ethnic music and dance by the Guangxi Art Performance Group; as well as the techniques of Guangzhou cake printing and Cantonese mahogany palace lantern1, and micro-engraving in porcelain2 demonstrated by handicraft artists. Lantern riddles will also be available for visitors to enjoy the festive season.
