The Lantern Carnival is themed "Charm in the Air: Chinese Style, Hong Kong Flair". Through the integration of traditional and modern lantern designs on the four major aspects of daily life, namely "clothing", "food", "accommodation" and "transport", the dazzling lantern displays symbolise the enduring prosperity of Chinese civilisation and the widespread popularity of the Chinese style in vogue. They also represent the beauty and charm of Chinese culture, and the authentic character of Hong Kong. At the height of about 12 meters, the highlight of lantern displays is created in the form of large traditional Chinese Tang suit and Qipao which complement each other, showing comely style of traditional Chinese costume. A 7.5 metre tall student lantern installation, "The Tree of Budding Creativity", is set up to showcase the students' creativity in making lanterns. Other crowd-pleasers include a curated Huafu Show, Mascots Catwalk Show, Mid-Autumn Market, Yingge dance, folk song and dance, fire dragon dance parade, traditional handicraft demonstrations1, self-service lantern riddles and more, all celebrate the National Day together.
