The programme offers opportunities for the children, teenagers and the elderly in the District to experience drum music. Training workshops on traditional and pop cajón drumming, performance appreciation and activity-cum-exhibition will also be organised to enhance participants’ knowledge in drums. On the whole, the programme aims to promote traditional and pop cajón drumming through enhanced activities and performances to people from all walks of life in the District.
Curated and performed by Hong Kong Drum Ensemble, this energetic performance aims to promote the art of drumming and attract the locals to the scheme. Other percussion groups ‘Progressive Percussion Ensemble’ and ‘The Moving Drums’ are also invited to perform at the event.
Trial sessions on cajón, chinese drum for parent-child and elderly and exhibition are organised to introduce the drumming and boost the interests in the community.
Various workshops including Chinese drum and cajón workshops, parent-child workshop on Chinese drums and Chinese drum workshop for elderly are organised in the community.
An array of performances including interactive drumming concerts, salon concert, drumming showcases and online drumming concerts are staged in the community.
The project will be concluded with the joint rehearsals and finale performances. All participants of the workshops will perform a drum music composed by Ronald Chin, Artistic Curator, specially for the community of Wong Tai Sin.
