2023-24 "Rhythmic Tunes, Hoofin' Grounds" Tap Theatre Training Project

Introducing tap dance, jazz dance and exploring the body movement potential of public through interesting workshops and community touring performances. A production of tap theatre performance features the characteristics of Sha Tin will bring with dance and acting training workshops, which cultivate new participants’ interests in and appreciation of dance. Selected participants will demonstrate what they have learned at the finale performance.

A wide variety of one-off tap dance experience workshop in different music styles: pop songs/K-pop, Broadway musical excerpts, jazz music and Disney excerpts. Suitable for different ages and parent-child.

Further enhance participants’ knowledge on tap and jazz dance with training workshops. A graduation performance will showcase the participants’ learning efforts.

Tap theatre performances will be held in Sha Tin to bring tap and jazz dance to the community. While watching the performance and demonstration by the arts group, audience can experience the fun of tap in interactive session.

After participating series of training workshop, a finale performance will be staged to showcase achievement of the participants. They will perform with professional actors for a tap theatre production featuring Sha Tin district. Selected participants will demonstrate what they have learned at the finale performance.
