Hop to the Future Musical Theatre Scheme

Professional musical theatre performers will perform live song-and-dance numbers of famous musicals from all around the world. The performances will be conducted in English with Chinese narrative to introduce the elements of musical theatre.

Workshops cover the basic elements of musical theatre, and the participants can learn singing, acting and dance through experiential exercises.

Each workshop focuses on one or two essential elements (singing, acting, dance) of musical theatre, and different styles of performance will be introduced. After the training, the participants with outstanding performance will be auditioned for the showcase.

Workshops at two learning stages will be organised to introduce the elements of musical theatre to the community in-depth. Participants with outstanding performance will be auditioned for the finale performance to showcase their achievements. Workshop participants of the 2022-23 project will have priority in phase I and II workshops enrolment to enhance their skills in musical theatre.

Finale performances will be staged to tell a story emblematic of the history, culture and lifestyle of the Islands District.
